Corporate image What is a corporate image? The simple answer is that three elements
make up the image; * Company logo * Company literature style and tone * The perceived
image of the company brand (often different to what companies themselves perceive)
Developing a good corporate image requires marketing-led design. Prior to producing
the corporate image the marketing objectives, 'positioning', culture and style
need to be assessed, then fed into the design process. The company's communication
objectives are then developed, finally the finished work is presented to the client,
complete with a marketing and design rationale as to why the particular 'corporate
image' has been created. This is a particularly complex area to develop and is
unlikely to be achievable by using the services of a 'design' or 'advertising'
agency. Marketing and design expertise are absolutely essential in getting the
right results. Always ask any agency about the marketing qualifications and commercial
marketing experience of their in-house 'marketers' before committing. The Tip
